DIY Vanilla Coco Latte Scrub

Posted on

One of my fave products for my body is a coffee scrub. There’s something about them that leaves you feeling so fresh and revitalised (apart from the accidental coffee snorting during application). So I decided I would try and whip up my own delicious little combo to gift to Kruizey’s daycare teachers as end of year / christmas gifts.

I decided to create a duo as I thought it would not only look sweet with the layering in the jar, but also to add a little variety. It’s super easy to make, and makes for a fairly cost effective (yet thoughtful) gift.

I picked up some jars from Ikea and the little tags from Typo. All of the ingredients can be found in your local grocery store.

Vanilla Coco Latte Scrub

Coffee Scrub:

1 Cup of Organic Ground Coffee (I used organic as it’s going on the skin)
3/4 Cup of Coconut Oil (mine was liquified due to the heat, I’m fairly certain solidified would work too – but would require more mixing)
2 Cups of Brown Sugar (to be honest, raw or white would also work)

Combine all ingredients in a large bowl.

Scoop 3-4 teaspoons into each jar.

Using the flat end of a coffee dabber, press the scrub softly into the jar to create a flat layer.

Vanilla Scrub:

3 Cups of Raw Sugar
1/2 Cup of Coconut Oil
1 Teaspoon of Vanilla extract / paste

Blend all ingredients in a large bowl using a mixmaster / hand held beaters – you want to make it slightly fluffy.

Scoop 3-4 teaspoons into each jar.

Softly press down the scrub using dabber – I didn’t press this one in as compact to create some texture/fluffiness within the jar.

If gifting, write all ingredients on a label with an expiration date of 1 month.

Happy Scrubbing!
